Benaroya was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1963. He lived both in Israel and Kenya as a young man, before moving to South Africa. It was in South Africa that he began to paint seriously and felt inspired to work on his art as a full-time profession. Benaroya is a completely self-taught artist, and his scientific observation of natural phenomena is expressed in the purest, classical spirit. He enjoys improvising and experimenting with colors and texture, and his works include a wide range of subjects in the still-life tradition. He favors Judaica, Wild Life, Animal Portraits and Classical Still-life. Albert returned to Israel where he now lives and works. He is inspired by the tradition and beauty of his homeland and has found a refreshing, spiritual connection with Israel.
